Singapore, 2 December 2014 – M&L Hospitality today announced its first partnership with Hilton Worldwide in Australia with the launch of the new DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne – Flinders Street. The 180 room hotel is centrally located close to Melbourne’s iconic Flinders Street Station and the CBD.
“M&L Hospitality is delighted to launch the first DoubleTree by Hilton in Melbourne. It is an exciting and energetic brand that will resonate with travellers who are looking for a contemporary stay in the heart of Melbourne,” said M&L Hospitality chief executive officer Neil Maxwell. “The revamp of the DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne, our third Hilton Worldwide property, makes it a key asset in our global portfolio as well as, at a local level, enriching the city’s unique flavour.”
M&L Hospitality initiated a multi-million dollar refurbishment lead by Melbourne-based Melissa Chen of interior design firm Mill Interiors and Michael McCann of interior design firm Dreamtime Australia Design. M&L Hospitality encouraged the incorporation of unique artisan details and custom-made features.
The aesthetics of the hotel reflect the vibrant hub of creativity that Melbourne is renowned for, with design elements inspired by nearby Flinders Street Station. The lobby, restaurant, bar, meeting rooms and bedrooms have all had a complete redesign to feel uniquely Melbourne and enhance the guest experience.
DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne – Flinders Street is M&L Hospitality’s third Hilton property having acquired Hilton Nagoya in Japan and Hilton Auckland in New Zealand in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
“Hilton Worldwide has enjoyed a very successful partnership with M&L Hospitality which has grown considerably over the years. We are delighted to be working with M&L as we further our footprint in Melbourne, whilst expanding the presence of the DoubleTree by Hilton brand in Australia. We look forward to welcoming guests at the DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne – Flinders Street with our DoubleTree hospitality and service culture which begins with a warm chocolate chip cookie presented to every guest at check-in” said Ashley Spencer, vice president operations Australasia, Hilton Worldwide.
Guest amenities include a 24-hour Business and Fitness Centres, a bespoke food and beverage offering, complimentary high-speed internet in public areas and an industry-recognised service culture which is built around the idea of CARE, or ‘Create A Rewarding Experience’ for guests.
The DoubleTree by Hilton brand, one of the world’s fastest-growing hotel chains, is known for its contemporary aesthetics and award-winning service culture.
M&L Hospitality has been actively upgrading its portfolio in Melbourne and Sydney since they entered the Australian market in 2009.
