M&L Hospitality & Ibis Singapore on Bencoolen donate thousands of meals to local hospitals – March 2020

ibis Singapore on Bencoolen and owners M&L Hospitality are showing their appreciation to Singapore’s frontline healthcare workers affected by the influx of COVID-19 patients by donating thousands of meals to local hospitals.

Starting on 24 March 2020, 400 Bento Box meals will be delivered each week for 8 weeks to two local government hospitals, the Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), to help the hospital feed staff and volunteers.

“We are pleased to be able to show our support and appreciation to our frontline healthcare workers,” said ibis Singapore on Bencoolen General Manager, David Lane. “The two hospitals we are sending meals to have a significant load of Singapore’s COVID-19 cases in our community and donating much needed meals is the best way we can offer our support”.

The meals will be prepared at ibis Singapore on Bencoolen by the property’s skilled kitchen team.  The meals will include a mix of local favourite Asian and Western options. They will be packaged in environmentally sustainable packaging, with strict food safety measures in place.

“We are pleased to be able to able to make a meaningful contribution during this very difficult and unprecedented time,” said Executive Chairman, Michael Kum from M&L Hospitality. “This is not only about donating meals to hospitals, but also an opportunity for our employees to come together to support others in the frontline during this global crisis.”

ibis Singapore on Bencoolen and M&L Hospitality are also in talks with two additional hospitals including the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

ibis Singapore on Bencoolen will remain open and is implementing strict precautionary health and safety operations measures to protect the safety of guests and associates. These include regular cleaning and disinfection of public areas such as lifts, door handles, telephones, lobby and public bathroom. All guests and staff are requested to have their body temperature checked before entering the hotel. Hand sanitisers, surgical masks and gloves are also available upon request for guests and staff.
